The Most Surprising Avengers and Marvel Characters Not Announced for Doomsday

Thanks to Marvel's hours-long watercourse of bare chairs past year, fans person known the main formed of Avengers: Doomsday for a portion now. And astir of those actors are connected show successful the jam-packed caller Doomsday trailer, isolated from a mates of X-Men. But that inactive leaves an atrocious batch of MCU veterans who are obscurity to beryllium recovered successful the newest Avengers movie. Are they truly going to permission retired Tom Holland's Spider-Man, Brie Larson's Captain Marvel, and Hugh Jackman's Wolverine? Maybe so.

Some absentees we knew astir – specified arsenic Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch and Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange – but the pursuing omissions are notable fixed the cosmic cross-over quality of what’s shaping up to beryllium an Avengers, X-Men and Fantastic Four cinematic extravaganza.

Missing Avengers

No Spider-Man (not that anyone tin retrieve who Peter Parker is now, caput you), nary Hulk, nary Hawkeye, nary Nick Fury, nary Rhodey (the existent 1 we recovered retired astir successful Secret Invasion). Not adjacent Pepper Potts oregon Happy Hogan to tag on for aged times’ sake. And portion Captain Carter was reportedly successful the premix astatine 1 point, Hayley Atwell wasn’t among those announced today.

X-Men X-Ceptions

No Hugh Jackman/Wolverine, nary Halle Berry/Storm, nary Famke Janssen/Jean Grey, nary Anna Paquin/Rogue, nary Ryan Reynolds/Deadpool. Ditto Colossus, Iceman, oregon immoderate of the First Class incarnations of the X-Men. Oh, and nary New Mutants either (remember them???).

Asgard, Where Art Thou?

While Chris Hemsworth’s Thor was the archetypal announced formed subordinate of this peculiar Avengers lineup, nary of his chap Asgardians – whom helium divided from astatine the extremity of Thor: Love and Thunder – look to beryllium progressive prevention for the Loki Variant. So nary Valkyrie, Korg, Miek oregon Lady Sif. Maybe his adopted girl Love volition amusement up though? And we’ll spot if Zeus oregon Hercules ever bash drawback up with Thor contempt what was teased successful the Love and Thunder post-credits scene.

Guardians of the Galaxy

Star-Lord’s instrumentality has been antecedently teased astatine the extremity of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, truthful his inclusion successful the Avengers ranks for Doomsday seemed likely. But alas neither Star-Lord nor immoderate of the caller Guardians lineup introduced successful Vol. 3 – Rocket, Groot, Kraglin, Cosmo, Adam, Phyla, and Blurp – are portion of this movie.

The Marvels

Captain Marvel’s value successful Endgame would person suggested that, arsenic 1 of the astir almighty Avengers, she would beryllium successful Doomsday. But with The Marvels tanking astatine the container office, nary of those characters – Ms. Marvel, Spectrum, Binary, oregon adjacent Nick Fury – were announced for Doomsday. This is each the much funny arsenic we cognize Binary ended up successful the X-Men beingness with Kelsey Grammer’s Beast, who volition beryllium successful the movie. In fact, there’s a noticeable deficiency of pistillate formed members wide successful Avengers: Doomsday…

Missing the Magic

While Benedict Cumberbatch did accidental his Doctor Strange volition beryllium successful Secret Wars but not Doomsday, it’s weird that specified a cosmic lawsuit wouldn’t spot the MCU’s reigning Sorcerer Supreme, Wong, amusement up. (We tin presume Doc Strange and Charlize Theron’s Clea are disconnected galavanting connected immoderate different level arsenic the events of Doomsday play out.) No Scarlet Witch oregon Agatha Harkness either.

Disney Plus Minus

There’s a decided deficiency of Disney+ amusement characters successful Avengers: Doomsday. So nary Daredevil, Punisher, Vision, Sylvie, Moon Knight, Echo, She-Hulk, Werewolf by Night, Agent Mobius oregon the TVA isolated from Loki. Ditto Riri Williams/Ironheart who made her debut successful Black Panther: Wakanda Forever but who's starring successful her ain Disney+ bid aboriginal this year.

Quantumania Fallout?

Given the dismal container bureau and captious results of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, it shouldn’t beryllium excessively astonishing that Marvel is putting those characters, with the objection of Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang, connected the sidelines for this installment. So nary Hank Pym oregon Janet Van Dyne. And Evangeline Lilly antecedently announced that she was stepping distant from acting truthful that mightiness beryllium different cardinal crushed wherefore Wasp is sitting this 1 out.

Eternals Are Not Forever

Not a one. Not adjacent Harry Styles arsenic Eros! This is astir apt not astonishing since the movie disappointed astatine the container office, but fixed the movie’s cliffhanger ending with Arishem and the information that Captain America: Brave New World addressed the elephantine dormant Celestial successful the ocean, possibly we’ll spot Sersi, Kingo, Sprite (or not since she was made quality successful the end), Phastos, Makkari, Druig, and Thena amusement up successful Avengers: Secret Wars instead.

The Young Avengers

The MCU has been teasing a Young Avengers lineup for a fewer years present – Ms. Marvel, Kate Bishop, America Chavez, Cassie Lang, Skaar, Eli Bradley, perchance Iron Lad and T’Challa’s lad – but not 1 of them is successful Doomsday.

Blade Didn’t Make the Cut

This shouldn’t beryllium astonishing since they inactive haven’t changeable the Blade movie with Mahershala Ali contempt teasing him successful Eternals. And portion Channing Tatum’s Gambit (somehow) managed to past to combat successful Doomsday, Wesley Snipes’ Blade perished successful Deadpool & Wolverine.

There are a gazillion characters successful the MCU but the aforementioned were the ones whose lack from the ranks of Avengers: Doomsday we recovered astir noteworthy. Sound disconnected successful the comments astir which omissions amazed oregon bummed you retired the most.
