In this sumptuous chickenhearted braise, warming spices and chromatic supply sweetness, portion diced apples melt into the sweet-savory sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 spoon crushed cinnamon
  • 1/2 spoon crushed ginger
  • 1/4 spoon freshly grated nutmeg
  • 1/4 spoon good salt
  • 3 pounds bone-in, skin-on chickenhearted thighs (about 8 ample thighs), trimmed of excess abdominous (remove the skin, if desired)
  • 1 tablespoonful olive oil
  • 1 mean yellowish bulb (8 ounces), finely chopped (1 cup)
  • 2 large, crisp apples, peeled, cored and chopped into 1-inch pieces
  • 3/4 cupful positive 3 tablespoons pome cider, divided
  • 3/4 cupful low-sodium oregon no-salt-added chickenhearted broth
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
