Hiker dies near summit of New York's tallest peak after slipping off trail

A 21-year-old hiker died aft slipping disconnected the way adjacent the acme of Mount Marcy, New York’s tallest peak, authorities said.

The Adirondack Daily Enterprise reported that the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) confirmed the victim, who was from New Jersey, was recovered dormant adjacent the acme country Thursday night.

The NYSDEC did not instantly respond to Fox News Digital’s petition for comment, but a spokesperson for the authorities authorities bureau told the Adirondack Daily Enterprise the hiker had called 911 astatine 3:05 p.m., saying they slipped and were incapable to get backmost onto the trail.

A State Police chopper transported 2 wood rangers to the tract connected Friday morning, wherever they were capable to retrieve the hiker’s remains.
